Eduard Anatolyevich Pichugin

Eduard A. Pichugin, the general director of Lenfilm Studios.
He is a board member of the Union of Cinematographers in Russian Federation; President of "Kinoalliance", the National Association of the Cinema Professional Organizations; the board member of the Producers Guild of Russian Federation. He has been engaged in promoting movie presentations and building cinema theaters since 1999. He holds a degree as a Candidate of Economic Sciences, wrote and defended the thesis on “Cash Flow Management in the Cinema Industry” within the framework of his major – “Finance and Credit”. He is a founder of the federal movie theater chains "Kronverk Cinema" and "KINO CITY".

SAINT PETERSBURG BECOMES THE CENTER OF THE RUSSIAN FILM INDUSTRY

The first meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Government Council of Cinematography, presided by Vladimir Putin, the RF Prime Minister, took place at 10:00 on April 14, 2011 (venue: the Saint Petersburg State University of Cinema and Television). The future of the university, destined to become one of the leaders of a new development vector in the domestic cinema industry. The high potential of the university was recognized by everyone, as it is able to resolve major tasks involving shooting and production systems in digital cinematography. Thus, the Government Council for the Development of Domestic Cinematography, presided by V.V. Putin, Chairman of the RF Government approved the resolution dated February 1, 2011, according to which tasks involving the development and improvement of the material base at the Saint Petersburg State University of Cinema and Television are presented in full.
One of the resolutions concerns professional training and educational courses for employees working in the film industry. It is planned to allocate funds from the budget in order to modernize the educational program for managers working in the film industry so that the management level of this field is in accordance with global standards and market requirements.
The Board of Trustees of the Saint Petersburg State University of Cinema and Television was established on December 27, 2010. The council includes leaders in the domestic film industry and international experts, namely:

•    E.A. Pichugin – Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Saint Petersburg State University of Cinema and Television, Manager of the Federal project – KINOCLUB: Culture, Education, and Communication;
•    F.S. Bondarchuk – film director, actor, producer, Manager of Art Pictures Company;
•   M.I. Krivosheev – Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Head Scientist of the Radio Research and Development Institute;
•    Sebastian Moeritz – President of MPEG Industry Forum (MPEGIF), (Great Britain);
•    I.G. Morozovskiy  – Chairman of the Board of Directors of AB Finans Bank OJSC;
•    Nazariy (N.A. Lavrinenko) – Bishop of Vyborg, Vicar of the Saint Petersburg eparchy, Viceregent of the Aleksandr-Nevskiy Lavra;
•   S.I. Rakhlin – member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, Golden Globe Awards, editor-in-chief, cinema critic for the Panorama newspaper (USA);
•    M.V. Romanov – President of Severnaya Stolitsa (Northern Capital), a fund for the development of science, education, culture, and social programs;
•    V.N. Telnov  – Director of the Cinematography Department at the RF Ministry of Culture;
•    A.G. Shapiro – President of Quadriga Ventures (USA);
•    Michael Schlicht – producer, General Director of Sony Pictures Entertainment.

The Board of Trustees of the university also approved to include the following members: Alexander Gelstein, President of the Tekhnika+ Company, Aleksandr Igorevich Igudin, film director, and Ilia Vladimirovich Tilkin, Art Director of the Second Creative Association of RWS Studio
April 14, 2011. The Board of Trustees discussed the main directions that should be taken in order to develop the university in the immediate future. The members of the Board of Trustees particularly discussed how the Saint Petersburg State University of Cinema and Television could participate in the National Forum - Kino Rossiyi 2020 (Russian Cinema 2020); the first event of the forum is scheduled to start in Saint Petersburg on April 19, 2011. A round table discussion will be held on the topic – “Problems and Prospects of Development in the Russian Film Industry”. Deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, representatives of the RF Ministry of Culture, representatives of the Saint Petersburg Government and Legislative Assembly, and cinema and television personalities will take part in this round table.
