KINO CITY supports new trends in modern art

11/04/2011

The KINO CITY Group of Companies and the gallery of modern art – Nepokorennye (The Unsubdued) present the art project – ANTROPIYA: Human Chaos Structures – in Novosibirsk. The exhibit opened on April 1, and will be prolonged to May 12.
The ANTROPIYA project includes a DJ installation and DJ chill-out from the Kiliov Bar, and video art projected on a big screen. The collection is presented by Aleksey Grishchenko, and Daniel Antsiferov’s Freak-cuisine.

Videoart on a big screen consists of a collection of video clips, which are just on the edge of representing both a media product and an art statement. On the one hand, this is video work done by the artist, captured by or knowingly manipulating media techniques through advertising, music clips, and fashion shows. On the other hand, this is video work done by designers, advertisers, or musicians, who drop their usual format of activity, and apply their creativity to the art field.

The ANTROPIYA series is the first attempt to visualize what actually happens; it is an interpretation of social chaos structures based on several disciplines and categories that have a greater impact on our life than traditional means, but which we often totally ignore.

Why does dynamic chaos look stable? It is likely that its structures are subordinated to some new kinds of laws. New and advanced technology brings out dark energies in human beings – ANTROPIYA – and challenges us to study these structures.
The exhibit illustrates this chaos, where it is not clear what is really important: is it science or science used as a commodity? Is it a philosophy or a commodity sold under the “philosophy” trademark? There is no room for mass psychology, only individual psychology, subordinated to any kind of fashionable trend. In the end, what does a person prefer when in doubt? The Holy Scriptures or Carnegie’s Laws?
