Overtaking the future

08/04/2011

Meetings with potential partners of KINO CITY were probably the most important events of my stay in the USA. We made some very promising arrangements, which made us all very happy.
Two companies have planned to sign official papers with us - Christie and Barco. Both of them are leaders in the field of cinema equipment, each of them in its own sector.

Christie is a Canadian company, the largest manufacturer of digital equipment in the world, and a leader in sales. Last year, they managed to totally “digitize” America; several thousand digital screens were installed! Christie is ready to work directly on our project, without going through any distributors, and they even wish to discuss the organization of manufacturing possibilities in the RF. Christie representatives will arrive in Russia after April 11, and, along with representatives from the Canadian Embassy, will take part in round table discussions at the Forum - Kino Rossiyi 2020 (Russian Cinema 2020), which will take place in Saint Petersburg on April 19.
At present, the Barco Company is the most advanced developer and manufacturer of insonation equipment for cinema theaters. They have just come out with a new product, a seven-channel technology projecting Auro surround sound.  Barco will take part in the Kino Rossiyi 2020 Forum this April.
We plan to present the Kinoteatr 2020 (Cinema Theater 2020) project within the framework of the forum. It will be a question of presenting a universal cinema theater of the future: new projection and image formats, and a fully automated process for replaying videos. Projectionists will become past history! But these are only some of the innovations… We will present more detailed material to the public as soon as we have concluded the round table in Saint Petersburg, and have signed the agreements with our partners.

Hurray!
