“We are launching a great project, the project for the construction of a multimedia educational center for young people. It is a very important project as we, here in Russia, have only half the number of cinema theaters required under the most minimal specifications. This means approximately 2,200 theaters… this also means that we need to build at least just as many. And, the Yedynaya Rossiya Party has started designing civil-engineering projects for such new and very contemporary cinema clubs.” remarked Gryzlov.
He emphasized that this construction will include not only cinema theaters, but clubs in the broadest sense of this word – educational centers equipped with access to the largest Russian library funds. As he mentioned, here it will be possible to organize different conferences, creative evenings, or meetings with well-known personalities. “It is planned that this center will be completed by the end of this year; it will be sponsored by the Yedynaya Rossiya Party, and directly supported by the young people, who live here, in the city of Rzhev.
“On the whole, we plan to build such centers all across Russia, mostly in small-sized cities with a population of 50 – 200 thousand people.” said the Chairman of the Higher Council of the Party. Gryzlov also noted that these cinema centers will present the best domestic films. He stated that today, the share of domestic films totals only 20% of all films shown in Russia. “We need to build such cinema centers and develop our national cinema industry.” he concluded.
We would like to add that this multiplex cinema center will be built within the framework of the party project called – KINOCLUB: Culture, Education, and Communication. It is planned to build similar cinema centers in Rzhev, Maikop, and Volsk.
